What to do when one finds this on the side of the road while driving a 3A?

Next stop .....Antiques Roadshow!!! Ka Ching!
Is it as heavy as it looks?
Maine looks inviting...is that house for sale?
-
It weighs an absolute ton. I needed help carrying it into my garage. Good thing I've been known for feats of super-human strength when there's a good deal on the line ;D
And yes, the house is for sale - it's my listing. I found the butcher block on the way to an impromptu showing with some buyers who called my number which is on that sign. I rolled in driving the 3A like this and wearing a floppy hat, sunglasses, willys t-shirt, shorts, and sandals.
I said - "Am I the most eccentric looking Realtor you've ever seen right now?"
They didn't buy the house....

Looks like your hat on the jump seat. What keeps it from blowing off when you're driving around with the windshield down?

It has a cinching chin strap (and makes quite the fashion statement, btw).
-
And if you get going fast enough, the rim will blow up flat against your forehead, just like that character on "F-Troop"...but you probably don't remember F Troop, it was on TV nearly 50 years ago!
-
I remember F Troop.
If I remember correctly, it was pretty dumb, like most TV in that era.
And I wear a similar hat - with a chin strap. I am as fasionable as Ryan.
;D

like most TV in that era.
Or any era, for that matter... ;)
Ryan's picture inspired a little windshield-down cruising today....I still have bugs in my teeth!

Don't cut meat or anything you will consume on that block. There is a reason they are no longer allowed in meat markets. Grind it down flat and use it for a work table, not food.

That's exactly what it does. I was trying to think of a way to describe it earlier but couldn't. I'm not even old enough to have caught "F Troop" on re-runs ;D
-
I don't know why anyone would bother airing F Troop re-runs!
I'm sure you could try youtube, just to get a taste of it.....
With those white legs and black "hooves", a tail and head of your choice would make that table into some nice yard art :D
-
What boggles my mind is - how much meat must have been chopped on that block to wear it down the way it is.
And
Are those stains running down the sides what I think they must be? The entire thing must be totally permeated by blood. I surprised it doesn't smell really rank.
:P

The amount of wear is pretty amazing. It must have been used in some sort of commercial capacity (butcher shop, etc) for it to be that worn. I will not be using for meat cutting and will likely just sell it off. They go for pretty good money around here. Some people even like them better when they show wear like this one does. Hmmm..maybe I'll but some Jeep parts with the proceeds. What a novel idea.
