Title: Volvo b20 engine...Tempting!
Post by: Jesse on May 06, 2014, 01:19:10 AM
Found a Volvo B20 engine and m40 trans for sale today, 300 bucks! Gotta say that the 5 main bearings and 120ish h.p. sounds mighty tempting. There's a guy with a p1800 that has a couple of million miles using the b20.

I'm eyeballing my engine compartment... Might be time for some Swedish power under the hood!

I vaguely remember a post somewhere (not here) where a guy put a Volvo in, I think, a 3B.
I'll have to do some Google searching to see if I can find it.

They are pretty nice engines, had one in a sport wagon this past summer and it was great. That baby started right up if you even looked at the key and the rest of the car was toast.

I would say dimension wise they are maybe a little shorter than a 3b engine, about the same overall. They are 2 liters I think (?)
