Title: Storm Check in??

Are any of you guys in the sights of the new superstorm?   My old place in NY seems to be in the line of fire.....I know Garage Gnome is up there..
I am about as far away as ya can get, in Fargo ND...

Everyone be carefull....and let us know how you fare, once you get power again.

Storm upside: weak tree's blow over and soon become fire wood for the winter....
Storm downside: one falling tree will always hit a powerline...
Front axle taken apart on Saturday, don't you often look in amazment at the simple but effective technology designed into these jeeps. How simple is the five ball steering knuckle....amazing!

You have to remember the Jeeps were designed for war time use and dependability to fight a war. Yes, the design is simple and effective. My last trip to Utah has convinced me that a war Jeep and the CJ2-3 will do and go nearly anywhere you want to go or do IF your willing to try.

There are those with the early Jeeps that will forge into places to rescue friends and people that no one but the rescued will know about. I believe the early Jeeps can go places newer Jeeps could only think about going. If you put locker axles in them and have a winch your nearly invincible.

Thanks for the concern Bill, in southern Maine the word is "lucky". We had scattared power outages but I think most here were expecting (and prepared for) much worse. The damage is progressivly more severe as you go south. I hope members check in on this thread on how they fared, news accounts tend to be focused on the extreme.
A memorable moment in my life was taking my grandson to see the launching of the Bounty (replica) after repairs in East Boothbay, Maine in 2007. Sad to see the loss of ship and life off No Carolina yesrerday.
