Title: Strange place for a Jeep
Post by: calvinhunt on October 25, 2012, 01:54:16 AM
At first glance I thought, This guy may be in trouble.

Then I realized it was just part of the "draw" to the business below. It's a tourist attraction located twelve miles south of Moab, Utah. It was originally a home carved into the large sandstone formation. It is a 5000 square foot home that was begun in the early 1900s and took 20 years to complete.

Another shot looking back from the other side of the "Rock". Trick setting or not, someone had to put that Jeep out there. I hope it's properly secured!

We passed that place a few times and never have stopped. I think next time I will make a point to stop and tour the home in the rock. We should have stopped there on the way back with Betty this year.

Was the Jeep there when we went by this year?

Carl, If it was there I didn't see it when you and I drove past.  I think we would have seen it.  It sure was noticeable when I went past just 5 days later, however.

Bob, Hole in the Rock Jeep No. 2 is more than interesting.  I guess ya got to stop to see that one.

I have an idea the one on top of the rock might have been the orange 2A they had out front for a couple of years....stripped to the bone, with pipes for axles with the wheels pigeon * welded on the ends .or is the orange one still there too?

.That wrought iron Cj5 is unbelieveable in person. I can't imagine how many hours the sculptor has in it.
