Happy 4th to everyone.

Our Forefathers won us independence from Britian and formed a Republic.

Since then we have gradually gave it away by apathy to Big Brother.

We need the Men of Independence to step up and take our government and freedom back.

I say, Hail to the Free Republic and Full Rights of the States and Common Wealth's of the Union of States to manage themselves as given in the Constitution of the United States of America.

In case anyone has forgotten, we are a Union of States and Common Wealth's, not a single government with full control over all.

Even though this post is skirting the area of politics, I couldn't agree more...
If we had a thumbs up smiley I'd use it.
Have a great day everyone...Go parade that jeep, fly your flag, and have a nice holiday.

Saw a reference to a T-shirt on the 2A site.

"OUR FOREFATHERS WOULD HAVE BEEN SHOOTING BY NOW."

To All: I hope your Independence Day is filled with a rememberance of the history of this great country. God Bless the USA.

No parade for us this year.
Too hot.
And the 3B is running sick - haven't had time to figure it out.
But here's some pics from past parades:

My Dad turned 91 last week and can still fit (just barely) into his uniform.

Happy 4th to all.

I wasn't going to be the only one to post a 4th of July parade photo, but since johnrb3b posted pics of a past parade I decided to go ahead. Didn't anyone else run their Jeep in a Parade somewhere in this big country? Well, anyway here are a few of photos.

Just finished helping this 85 year old man prep his 1952 Chevy for the parade. He bought this car new 60 years ago when he was 25 years old and has kept it ever since. He had a local shop restore it a few years ago--drive train, interior, and exterior.

Pulling the family float again. Four years in a row.

Here's the "one-owner" driving his 52 Chevy.

There are many more Four-wheelers than Jeeps in my area now. They, too, are threatened by the BLM and Forest Service road closures. These riders are in protest. San Juan County, Utah, has become a serious target on the US Department of Interior's radar screen. They are working on legislation in Washington that applies only to closing "routes and trails" in this county. We have a high concentration of beautiful mountains, canyons, and thousands of square miles of deserts and the BLM is "Hell bent" for keeping riders out of them.
