These video's were posted on CJ2A site. I don't know how many visit that site so I thought I would post them here for your enjoyment. I'm thinking about a loading my Jeep and heading to Columbia. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did but I wish I could understand what they are saying.

I guess we've got a thing or two to learn about loading Jeeps. I can't imagine their springs, axles, and wheels hold up. Yet their old Jeeps seem to be in good condition. And why have they not rusted away in the humid environment? Maybe the Jeeps in Columbia have found the fountain of youth.

I believe some of the factories that were licensed to produce Willys Jeeps in South America kept on cranking them out long after the production runs here in the USA. I think a similar thing went on with the early VW Beetles too...

My daughter-in-law is a Columbian and I sent them the video's. She said the narrator was saying the Jeeps that was bought at the end of WWII have been passed down in the family and his Jeep was his great grandfathers. They will not sell a family's Jeep and just keep repairing them.
I would suspect they have extra leaves in the springs and 6 or 8 ply tires for hauling the banana's and coffee beans. It surprised me that they didn't turn the Jeeps over the way they wallowed around on the muddy roads and being top heavy.

Incredible video! I just have to ask...how do they steer them with only the two rear wheels on the ground?
-
They would have to stop each wheel to change direction. They can do it several ways so it's hard to say exactly how each did it.
