Just a heads up for any one in the market for any ndt or ndcc tires. I have checked around and Wallace Wade in Texas has by far some of the best prices I can find for NDT or NDCC tires. They sell both the STA and Firestone brands. (Both are made in the same factory out of the same molds one is just stamped STA and the other Firestone BTW) He also has good shipping prices and has been a great person and company to talk to and deal with in the past. They are set for a substantial price increase in the very near future. If you are thinking about buying any NDT or NDCC tires, you might want to give them a call and check them out before their prices escalate.

Being I live in Cypress, my wfie and I were going to drive up to the Dallas area and pick up 5 tires and tubes, but spend the weekend there, kind of a mini-vacay with bennies (well, for me....)
But we weren't planning on doing it until Nov/Dec.
If the pirces go too high, the whole shebang may be altered/canceled..

I just ordered four 6:00x16 NDT tires from Wallace Wade Tires and he said they have gone up last month and just called in another hike today. They have some in stock they are selling at the old price so if you want new tires you better get them now while they have some left.

Nothing like a new pair of shoes for Christmas!!!!! ;)

If you're close enough to Walcks, they carry them.

At Wade's the 6.00x16 NDT is 85.76 plus shipping.

6 ply or 4 ply? 6 ply is stock.

That's the price of 4 ply and they have 4 and 6 ply in stock.

My tires and tubes came this evening. 8-) The only thing wrong with the ones on the Jeep now is they have some cracking so I will run them for a while before changing them out.

I'm heading there on 17DEC, to pick up 5 tires and tubes. They (Wallace Wade) have 4 and 6 ply on the shelf, STA brand. They can order the Firestone for a few bucks more.
Now the dilema...I know not one person will look at the brand name on the firewall. I know I will every time I look at them.
If it worth the extra $$ just to have a "name" brand tire ??

Wasn't I told by someone in "the know" that the STA (Specialty Tires of America) brand and Firestone were made in the same factory?
-
Wallace Wade told me that just three weeks ago himself. What I like about Wallace's prices, he does not kill you on the prices if you move up from 4 ply to 6 ply or from a 6.00 to a 7.00. He just charges you a small difference. Also, his price between STA brand and Firestone brand is not that much different either.

The Firestone branded NDT's were made to fulfill a demand from the military restorer's market, not for the post-war civvys. In my opinion I would not spend the extra money but that's just my $.02.

Makes 100% sense.
This is my first civvy Jeep, (last was a 1954 M38A1) so I guess I still have a little "military" on the mind.

Well, we drove up to Wallace Wade Tires yesterday and I picked up five 6.00-16's and five tubes. I decided on the 4 ply, because the reality of the yearly mileage I'll put on my jeep didn't warranty the 6 ply...
If you ever have the chance to go there, you should, his shop is more like a museum with all the different types of tires on display ! Plus, just sitting and talking with Wallace makes the trip worthwhile, he has interesting stories !
