That looks great!  Good work!

I can see how that Koenig top would feel cramped; the windows are very small and the roof line is pretty low.  These are very small vehicles compared to anything modern.

Atlast, the cj3a is completed and running.
The engine died just before we could relax.
The engine was opened up and rebuilt after 25 yr.
After few hiccups, she now runs well and is back on the road.
The Koenig hard top looks good though I feel a bit cramped compared other jeeps that I dont have even a soft top on.
The 53 brought in another 1952 cj3a, that's under restoration.
Posting some pictures of the 53 cj3a after the restoration.

After all the work the cj3a has been painted and has a Koenig hard top installed amid the lockdown situation.
Next we go for the electricals and completing the paint job.

We have slow progress on the Koenig hard top for the 53 cj3a. The back door being completed in addition to the tub.
Awaiting completion of the front doors and then we are good to go for the paint.

Update on the 3a.
We got working on the body this March and have completed body work and the Koenig hard top.
Next on line is fabricating the missing doors and there we are close to getting her painted in Sabre Rogue.
Have never seen a 3a with that paint code, would like to see some pictures of any of the members have that.

Update on original color.
Realised that the cadet great color as noticed turned out to be a layer of primer used at the previous paint.
Further cleaning of the body revealed patches of dark red, may be the Saber Rogue as seen on the paint code sheet.

The complete hood has the original cadet grey under the present coat of paint.

The 53 cj3a is under restoration.
Mechanicals serviced and the Jeep is being scraped out for starting the body metal work.
Found patches of grey under the present layer of paint.
Should be CADET GRAY, as per the 1953 paint chart.
I'm looking out for a specimen picture to follow.

Looks like India to me too.
Partly because of the apparent ventilating windshield frame.
So maybe the wheels are knock down parts ?

Anyway The Jeep looks to be in incredible nice condition.

Thanks athawk.
The 3a lies about 2000km from where I stay. I have been following this since the last 5 yrs and was very lucky to find the Vin plate in place.
These pictures were sent to me by the present owner. I shall post better and more detailed pictures once it lands in my portico.
One interesting thing is that the 3a at present is running on spoke wheels, which the owner claims is original :D.
More to follow, and hope I get it home.

There are some pretty cool modifications on your 3A.  The previous owner did nice work.
