Here's the block and parts. Block was sleeved to std. Magnaflux ed and pressure tested. Decked and valve job. Head was shaved.  Rotating Mass Balanced.  Getting parts inventoried and laid out.  Time to break out the measuring tools, get some supplies ( sealants etc..)  and get to going on it.
For anyone that's interested. I bought this motor from NJTOOL from over on the cj2a page. Props to njtool for bringing it to me from New Jersey all the way to South Carolina!!  A detailed history of this engine is available for reading on the cj2a page. Look under for sale "My Almost Finished Engine" and there's a link to the story there..

The tires look to me like retreads - so the tread pattern may not be original to a Dunlop tire.

Those tires are BRAND NEW DUNLOPS,  Installed in 1970 on the day this jeep was parked. They sat, eventually going flat. When I picked up the jeep, it didn't roll and slid on the flat spots. Finally near an air source, they filled right up and are still holding air. Destroyed  sidewalls. But holding...  tire * and all!!!
I too like the tread pattern but these tires aren't made anymore.  The closest I've found are the STA Super Traxion's

Looks good.

Lovin the tire tread.  What kind of tires are they?

Feels good to have the first new bolts going in along with the suspension coming together!
