You already have electricity.  I see it  through the window.  What is the trench for...plumbing?    Actually  I just bought a house for a rental a few months ago.  It had trap doors in the garage, 2"x2" and a funnel beside them. Gee I wonder what they were for.  In door plumbing

Definitely the engine needs a complete dismantling and cleaning... then post some more pictures if you don't find any fatal cracks or severe wear..... Your clutch looks too rusty and greasy to even consider using it for anything but a core.
