My Husquvarna bit the dust a while back. Bad seals and pretty disappointed with not a lot of hours. I have a Stihl and it fits with no modifications. Happy with Stihl and no primer bulb on it. I have the bar from the husky and another bar and 2 chains in the box now.

looks like you did a great job.  might want to put an old towel on the bottom to catch that bar oil when it starts dripping out.

I actually never measured it just built it to fit. Outside dimensions are 36 1/4 long,11 1/4 wide and 11 3/4 high. That is box only not counting the handles or the 2 cleats to keep bottom up with are 3/4 high. I probably would have made it a little shorter by not having the end part I keep the muffs and such in and built a box along side the chain bar.

That is why I put on the metal handles and lockable hasp. I can at least secure it around something and at  make it harder to take. A couple of machine screws and nylock nuts where the wood screws hold the handles can't be removed.

Looks nice Steve.  I've been toying with the idea of building an enclosed saw carrier to fit on the tire carrier.  I don't like them inside the Jeep.  Even in one of the factory plastic boxes they're a mess, take up too much room, and stink.  Not to mention too easily removed if you have to leave it parked someplace.

Only thing different is the chain oil bottles won't fit like that as the hinge hits along the outside so I moved them around and have 2 of the small fuel oil mix bottles along the outside.
I have had the Woodsman's Pal for a number of years but seldom take it with me so now I have it and it's nice for small trimming. And no I am not reckless with a chain saw but do believe if you are prepared for bad stuff to happen it usually won't.

Pretty heavy so I put handles on it and also wanted the lid to stay up. Tacked some felt weatherstripping along edge to keep it clean and allow for possible wood warping down the road

Probably figured out but I am not a fan of loose stuff and gathering bits and pieces to go and do stuff. I finally got a really nice chainsaw Husquvarna (sp) 16" bar and made a box to keep it and accessories in. Except for fuel can it has it all. Built for my saw pretty fun and low cost. I have used it several times to make sure it works and it does.





Kept is as small as possible and the small block tips the engine up and lets the chain brake stay under the lid. Just glued and screwed interior partitions
