My plans are to restore the jeep to original condition, with the exception of a sissy bar for my wife, and electric wipers for now. It has a single stage fuel pump now, when it heads south I will install a pump w/ vac. assist.
It has a Solex carb which I will replace with a WO. I will ask scoutpilot to rebuild one of the two carbs I now have, they need throttle plate shaft work.
The major job is to find someone to repair the rear quarter panel where the spare tire mounted. It's pretty nasty there.
It will not be a spit-shined vehicle for show. It will still be used as a jeep, just not real rought areas. Us old-timers need to take care of each other. lol

Welcome to the site.  Plenty of info here and over on the CJ2A page.  Are you planning to fix your Jeep to use or shine it up to show?

I had been searching for a flat fender for quite a while. Hard to find one that has not been beat up or cut up with a decent body in the southeast. But I did find one this summer.

I began jeeping at an early age. My grandfather, an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener bought a new '48 CJ2A, his only vehicle. My brother and I were practically raised in that jeep. Thus began the love affair.

At fourteen dad bought us a '48 2A, we wore it out, then came a 3A. I wrecked it. Then dad got us a salvaged M38A1. He said "here it is, I bought it. That's the last penny I will spend on it". I still have that old jeep.
 
Looking forward to meeting you folks and learning how to keep my old jeep running. I will post a pic  as soon as I figure out how to do it.
