I would like to provide an update on my Jeep and to thank everyone on this forum for your help with the details over the past year or so.  I am now finished with the Jeep and it has received a Senior National First Place at the AACA National show in Hershey this fall.  Attached is a picture.

Again, thanks for all of the assistance, I could not have done it without your help.

It's great to involve the kids. To many these days don't even know how to change a tire.  They will remember those hours with you. Great project!

Post lots of photos and we can help you out by spotting things that are not original for a 1951 CJ-3A  ;)

I get the warm fuzzies when I see another CJ3A being saved.

My son and I just bought a very rusted 1951 CJ-3A that we are planning to restore.  My objective is to restore it to original and to show it in Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) national shows.

I have restored other cars but this is my first Jeep.  My son is into off-roading and rock crawling with an old Toyota pick-up which is fully modified.  This Jeep just sounded like a fun project.

I have the parts book and Westerman's excellent book but I will need a lot of help when it comes to the details of originality.
