Glad you found a shop!  If they can do full service, I would like to offer some advice.  My last rebuild (F-head) got decked.  I wasn't expecting it, but I'm glad it got done - just wished I knew before so I could say something.  Luckily, I had already documented the engine serial number and eventually found stamps very close to the original. 

So for your rebuild, ask them if they intend to do that and if they can match the stamp for you (so that you don't have to).

Just a follow up.  Miller's Machine Shop is in Oxford, PA.  The have a fully capable shop to handle virtually anything required in an engine rebuild including more complex operations such as grinding crankshaft journals.  As I was picking up my parts I was shown a Willys L-Head they were in the process of refurbishing.  work they did for me was excellent.

I found the machine shop that built my L-134 by calling the local Military Vehicle Preservation Association (MVPA) chapter. I figured that if anyone knew of a reliable shop, they would.

That was nearly 10 years ago, still running fine....

Hello all, I have an L-head 134 that I need to have the head machined / block decked and valves / seats done.  I will do the rebuilding.  The cylinders need to be honed, but by my measurements are not far out of round and have near zero lip at the top.  Does anyone know of a shop with this sort of capability in the Southeastern Pennsylvania (Philadelphia?), Delaware, South Jersey, Maryland (Baltimore?) area that you would recommend?  Thank you.  R.
