I’m pretty sure they left the factory raw cast. Eastwood makes a product that works pretty good on cast manifolds, but in given time and countless heat cycles it doesent matter what you use they seem to revert back to Rusty cast iron 😂

I had to replace my cracked manifold with a new one, so I had a local powder coating company coat it with a high temp coating called "cast iron". It looked really great and did look like fresh cast iron, but didn't hold up very well. I'm starting to see small rust pits in the finish now.

Ricardo,
I'm not sure about appearance from the factory.  Mostly, I see manifolds some shade of "rust" with little to no paint on it.  You can look at a bunch of engines to see the bare/rusted ones, as well as some paint choices others have taken here:

Also, under Paint in the Tech Section, there is some additional information on engine paint:

I chose to use high temp paint - in hopes that would minimize the rust pits that seem to form after some time.

Hi guys, I am restoring my CJ3b engine, I will paint black, but I have a doubts, what about exahust manifold, Have I to paint it too?
How did it come out of the factory? Is there any information on how they left the factory?

Thanks in advance
