Thanks for the reply.
I did just that and feel the lip goes towards the face

I also looked at a u-tube video from a man from the cj2a page take off a bezel, and from that video its looks like the lip is in that orientation but not that clear.

I've never done this before.  If you've got the bezel off, have you tried to fit the ring and what's left of the lens into the bezel (flipping the ring to check both ways)?  Could the ring and bezel sit on the housing without the lens and show you anything?

BTW, this is my biggest fear when disassembling.

I have a used cj2a-3a speedometer that has a broken lens and broken mounting bolts.  figured i would attempt to fix it as it work good.

anyway, got the bezel off without any issue but when i pulled it off , the metal ring that holds the glass in flew out and I didn't see the orientation of how it goes in.

there is a lip on one side of this ring and the other side is flat.  does the lip go towards the glass or towards the    speedo needle assembly ???
