To prevent downtime.   I'm just finishing up the steering box rebuild and that took about two months due to parts issues and other nonsense.  Trans/tcase I have seem good,  just a lot of leaking at the seals. Planned on getting spares, rebuilding them,  swapping them in, then rebuilding the originals. So I always have a spare set and I can keep driving it.

I just love driving the jeep.  Breaks my heart when it's down too long ;)

That transmission looks like it would only be good for the case. Everything else is too rusty.

Why not just repair the gearboxes that you have?

Thank ya, sir!

Any idea how much to offer based on those pics? I don't want to offend the guy, but that trans looks like basically a core...

A 1948 CJ-2A transmission and transfer case will fit in a CJ-V35.

Will T90 and D18 from a 48 2A fit my '50 V-35 (interchangeable with 3A)? I found a combo locally but it's in pretty rough shape. Seller is also selling a "'48 CJ-2A" rolling frame, so I have no reason to assume the gearboxes are coming from anything other than this jeep (assuming the data is indeed correct!). I'm asking seller to measure intermediate shaft.  Though,  as a spare it may not be that big a deal if it's different...

UPDATE (I did some homework  ;) ) :
Dana Spicer (Brown Lipe) Transfer case data as best I can surmise with the info/photos provided by seller:
data plate: J 131127 tag says "Brown Lipe" and is lacking the "<Spicer>" stamp on the top-middle rear of the case
Case Stamp: C-15(might be 18?)-15-10-3
intermediate Shaft appears to be 1-1/8th. The image he sent isn't lit well, and he didn't affix the end of the tape measure to the bottom of the shaft exactly, so it's a little difficult to say definitely, but the amount of offset appears to suggest 1-1/8th" intermediate shaft.
Rear output shaft has a hole, suggesting it accepts a castelated nut.
There's a single shift pocket so this does indeed appear to be a 'small hole' case.
There's a small tag near the rear ouptut bore that say "H 26-7" that I can't seem to decipher.

With the info I have, I can reasonably assume this is a direct bolt up to my transmission/drivetrain. Can anyone confirm?

Finally, I'm not sure how much to offer... can you all take a look and advise?
The T-90 looks like a total rebuild (so, a core basically), but the photo showing the gears in the T-case seem to suggest maybe something can be salvaged in there (maybe).

$200?

Yes, that is the intermediate shaft and yes that is a Spicer 18.  Here is a good page for reference information: https://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/transfer-cases/model-18/

Hi there,

When looking at the back of my t-case. Is this the intermediate shaft?

Also,  I'm assuming it's a Dana Spicer 18?
