A short time after putting my 53  3B back on the road I noticed a weird sound coming from the dash area. Since I had already replaced the speedo cable I checked out the speedometer assembly. Many old units can be easily disassembled to service them but this one could not. But, it can be lubed by a small hole on the rear of it. I oiled it with 3 in 1 oil and now  it is quiet . I guess this is one more item that needs service  on a  50+ year old vehicle.
