I just finished it! A 1961 IH Scout. "Scout The America Others Pass By".  Scouts were popular up until Ford Broncos and Jeep Wagoneers out priced and performed it. I had my first ride in a Scout in 1965. My Dad bought a '66 Toyota Land cruiser. I learned to drive with it. My love however was a WW2 Jeep. I now have a MB and a GPW. The love still burns. LOL, John

I'm going to be different as my love of my Jeep is not a love of jeeps in general or anything to do with offroading etc. Its only the love of this one jeep that has been a big part of my life for the last 57 years since I was 5. So if Chug A Lug some how did not exist then it would be next on the list a 66 or 67 Chevelle Malibu set up as a late 70's early 80's street racer.

I like your list.  Unfortunately I think all of those vehicles had sharply fewer numbers imported into the US (since they are all foreign) so they will be even harder to find if all the Willys are gone!  The early Patrol had less than 7000 US import units in all the 1960s.

I have my '69 Blazer sitting in the garage waiting for its day to get restored, like the 3A I have nearly all the parts for it but no time or space to get started.

I think either an early Studebaker Champ or International 1200 4x4 pickup would be awesome just for how they look.

I love the Land Rover Discovery pickup like Penhale drives on "Doc Martin".  Nice little navy blue truck with a white roof.  Yea, I'd take one of those!    (and throw in a TR6 for good measure!)

I would almost surely look for a British Land Rover.
A little larger but still within reason at 88" Wheelbase.
I mainly would look for a nice original series II-A (1961-1971)
One powered with the aluminum  215 engine that was aquired from Buick
And there's no need to swap over to metric tools.

Early Broncos.  I had a '69 and it was a beast, and I still had a million things to do to make it even better.  One day, there I was, 2 Jeeps and a Bronco, just one vehicle too many for my situation.  I knew the Bronco was the logical choice to keep, but it's now gone and the two Jeeps remain.  But man, if you're looking to buy one right now.... they surely are proud of them.

Next I found myself doing a short list of other vehicles I'd get if that nightmare happened and my CJ3B was gone:

1. Early Toyota FJ40
2. Series 1 Landrover
3. Subaru BRAT
4. Early Nissan Patrol

What would be on your list?
