1966 - 1971. Only CJ5s with a factory v6 have them. If it has a 4 cyl, then it has 9" ones.

The 10" are plenty adequate to stop a stock flatty, even with the stock MC. I drove mine for a year with the 10" brakes and tock MC and it was fine. I then upgraded to Herm's dual MC because I had built a matching trailer for my Jeep that I use to haul other antiques, so I wanted to be really safe. The dual MC plus 10" brakes work super together. I would image that if you just do a dual MC swap on 9" brakes, they would work better too. Twice the area pushing on the wheel cylinders.

It is a non parking brake set, don't know what it is off... That is about market price for what you are getting on the opening bid...But there are places that buy the old junkyard stuff and clean them up and sell with all new parts, in an easy to buy expensive kit for those who don't have the time to search....and they are not cheap. (which you already know about, it seems.)

Used to be the drums and wheel cyls were available at Rock Auto, but I haven't checked lately on the CJ5 parts.  I need to, as I have a set that needs drums...etc.

These backing plates and some hardware are on ebay now. Maybe some of you more knowledgeable guys can check them out too. Price seems ok but I am not sure what they came off of.

The parking brake on the rear driveshaft is just fine. Yes, you can do one axle, the front before the rear. Have you looked into finding a set of 10" brake from a CJ5 with a v6? Those are what I have on my '53 and they work great too. Easier to find because everyone rips them off for the 11" ones anyways.

Ok,  now I'm spooked.... I have read all of the posts about the benefits of going 11, but all of the kits that I find are over $600 and I paid only slightly more than that for the whole jeep.

I have had zip luck finding anything from the vast storehouse of Central Oregon junkyards, and wonder if there are other sources
eg junkyard on line etc, or (and this may be stupid) can I convert one axle at a time?
you know do the fronts first, and then when the eagle flies again do the rears.    


And what about parking brakes....if I have the ebrake on the drive shaft do I need them on the rear corners?
