BTW
The CJ-3A bumper should be riveted to the frame rails, not bolted.

CJ-2As up to late 1948 had an entirely different frame than CJ-3As. The 2A frame was made up of many more separate parts. It was similar to an MB frame where weight was a very important factor. Late 2As and beyond had a simplified frame, with less pieces, but overall it was stronger (and heavier). So to answer the question - CJ-3As do not have the bumper gussets.

Dumb question time, I know Bob W will jump on this but I was looking at a 2A last week and got to wondering if a 3A is supposed to have frame horns?  My bumper is just bolted on to the frame and there is no contraption like the bumper supports on the 2A.  Does anyone have a picture?

Confused in MPLS.
