You may be able to put it on the front of the windshield, but it will have to be at the top of the w/s rather than where the original one went.  I never installed mine, sold it and bought a canvas one from JPet on the 2A page.  You may have to play with it a bit to get the right location.

Really?!?! That's interesting! Many thanks for the heads up! Glad to hear that channel can be had from Best-top and it is really interesting that the fitment of that channel is now to the top of the frame and not on the front...well, that is the way for me to go, many thanks!

I bought a hardware set from Best top for mine, it has a channel that screws to the top of the windshield frame, the front edge of the top will slide into that channel.  I had a best top knock off, and if I tried to use the channel on the windshield, I found the top would not fit right, the back corners would not meet the tub. It was made to connect to the top of the frame not the front.

My 51' doesn't have the channel located at the top of the windshield to affix a soft top front edge to....is this necessary or will snaps work, is the channel available?
