And yet another way.  Secure the lug with some vise grips to keep it from turning.  Drill out the whole stud to the depth of the lug so its basically hallowed out.  Then take a pipe or something against the lug and smack it with a hammer.  The remaining material should bust off.  Studs are tuff, get a good bit and lots of cutting oil.

Here is a trick thet you can do with a plumbers torch.  Heat it up touch a wax candle to it thus haveing the wax in the threads to act as lube to turn it off.  If you have to hold it then use a drill and drill a center hole in it to use a large size easy out to hold the stud still.  First figure out if it is left or right threads

Have you tried using a nut splitter? Here's a link to a cheapo set that Northern sells. Splits nuts to 7/8"

It helps to start a cut in the nut first with a Dremel tool or even a small cutoff wheel in a hand drill.

Die Grinder - yes, enough PSI to run it - No, and I've only got a plumbers torch, which seems to work okay combined with ice cubes on the part I'm trying to shrink.  yeah, thanks for the tips, tomorrow is the big day,,,,I'm putting on blue face paint, wearing a kilt and bringing a big ole sword to this fight.

Do you have a die grinder with a cutoff wheel attachment? NO, then buy one. Use the cutoff wheel to cut a screwdriver slot in the end of the stud and use a large screwdriver and a box wrench to remove the nut. Hmm, you can't break it loose, ok.

Weld a 3/8x1 1/2" bolt to the end of the stud. Then hold the bolt head with a wrench and a wrench on the stud nut AFTER you heat the stud nut to a cherry red. It should come off.

There are more ways but those should work.

If you can use a good air impact and put side pressure on the bolt you might get it..If the nut is already partly off try outward pressure with a nothed pry bar.  Otherwise you may have to pull the hub to get to the backside  of the stud to either hold it with vice grips or weld it in place. You might try welding a nut to the stud to hold with a wrench and once it is off replace the studs with new ones that grip the holes. if teh holes are wallerred out too much either weld them or you will need to replace the hubs  and studs.

Just wondering if anyone knows a secret for removing lug nuts when the studs spin.  This is on my 50', trying to change the tires.  
I know I could put a small bead on the wheel stud and weld it to the wheel, but I don't want to do major damage.  I know I could take the whole knuckle off, but if I do that I'm afraid I won't be able to stop and I'll have the whole Jeep apart before I know it.  This one runs and drives and I only want to put tires on it and get'r going.  

Anyone tried epoxy?  Some sort of leverage, a puller?  I could cut the lug nut off. But I'm wondering if someone has an ingenious easy way to do it that I don't know about.  I've read about a special "solid matter molecular reimaging and atomization tool" that works by magic but they're an alien technology and only available at Area 51....bummer my top secret clearance is expired.
