Thanks Bob, the guys over at Early CJ5 have a ton of info for their model as y'all do for the CJ3a's.  They narrowed it down to somwhere from 66 to 68 it appears. So with no number plate or VIN to work with I guess this is good enough.

The early CJ-5 experts could probably tell you. They are over on the Early CJ-5 Forum. I am going to guess it's about a 1965 since it still has the hood snorkel cutout but doesn't have the cowl battery cover.

Hi, and thanks for all the usable info on this site. I'd like to know if there is a way to find the age of my tub.  As you can see it's a CJ-5 body on a CJ-3a frame and gear. The serial plate on the body is the one from the old CJ-3a so I'm not sure how to find how old the body is.  Is there any construction differences the run of "5" tubs that will help date it? It has two gas tanks and what looks like a snorkel access panel on the right side of the hood. I really haven't gone over it well I may have missed another number somewhere.
Thanks again.
