Ryan,

This is why I love the CJ3A page! I was thinking the same thing, why does this oil line just flop around. I'm going to dig through my old parts and find a darn clip that will fit.

Non CJ/military engines didn't always come from the factory with oil filters.

The two motors I have without this clip also did not have oil filters...so I guess Bubba tossed those clips along with the filters.

I discovered a new-to-me part last night while inspecting an M38 motor. My 3A did not have this clip nor does my other M38. After consulting the parts list I have determined it should be there.

"A-1289� CLIP, 7/16" (Oil filter tube to engine plate)"

I never liked the way that oil line just kind of flopped around next to the fuel pump and apparently the Willys engineers didn't either so they made this clip.� Now everyone go run out to the garage and check your own vehicles� :D
