U mentioned some things I hadn't even considered. I'm am one of those who can take things apart but never put it back correctly. I'm pretty sure I can get it off (the axle). Even take it all apart but honestly don't know what I'm looking for. I met some1 nearby that is redoing a 2A & I just texted him to c if we could take ours apart together. Long shot but....one never knows. I'd just have to trust he knows what he's doing cuz I surely don't. Thnx again. {Added most recent photo of project}

Don't get discouraged.

There are a lot of things that can clunk while turning the wheel.  And many are relatively cheap, or cost you some time.

Worn parts in the drag link.  Pitman arm banging against a loose exhaust pipe. Bell crank is loose or worn.  Bearing issue in the steering box. Tie rods need grease.  Broken locking hub.  Broken axle or differential components.

You're going to have to track down the clunk.

When I turn the steering wheel, I hear a clunk clunk. Was told that is probably in the front axle &/or in the steering. That I should replace the front axle, have the brakes re-done, & have the steering gone thru. Logic tells me that is sound advice but budget holds me back. That's probably several thousand in additional cost. This was a budget build & alrdy over what I was committed to. But safety has to prevail. I don't even want to drive it now. Recommendations, plz? I want it fixed right but as economically as can b, u c?
