Have you been able to determine the original color of your Willys?

Could it be Midnight Cloud Metallic?  This was a very dark grey color offered in, I believe, 1950.

The interior color of my grills matched the original exterior color on both of my 3As...and my 2A.

According to Bob W's book, Very early gas tanks were body color, but quickly changed to black through the balance of 3A production.

Looking at dozens of pictures makes me think that the entire backside of the grill unit was body color. While cleaning mine in preparation for painting, it looks like the back of the grill and the area around the radiator wings were painted black.

Anyone have a picture of what is correct?

Another quick question; is the gas tank body color or black?
