Here's a nice shot from near the top looking toward the SW.

Here's a nice view of San Juan river and some canyons, bluffs and mesa's.

Here we are down in a narrow canyon, very interesting to be there.

With temps supposed to be in the 90s we decided to head for the high country up in the mountains again.

This is our first stop among the quakies, aspen, and fir.

Carl is looking good leaning against his Jeep.

Working our way on up into the higher country.

A look-out point just before we got to the summit.

Another pic taken at the same look-out point.

Here we are at the summit. Taking a break before starting down the other side of the mountain.

On our way down. Starting to get a bit stormy nearby.

Starting to get a bit stormy close by. Even in the middle of August, at 9,000 feet with a little rain it becomes a bit chilly. We were pleased that the heavy rains stayed to our left and didn't really dampen our ride too much.

Coming around one of the final bends as we approach the highway that leads back into town. It really was a nice ride over the mountain.
