Hope you had the back half of the overdrive bolted up before you sprayed that gunk all over the underside.  ;D

Before I did the dual carb swap, I too everything off my engine that wasn't Pontiac blue. I bought some engine degreaser, Gunk brand. I started using it and the stuff smelled and looked like kerosene. Anyways, I cleaned the engine with a tooth brush and touched up the paint. So it was pretty clean to begin with. Then while it was on the lift, I used my special engine degreaser, a mix of 50/50 ATF and #2 oil or diesel for the underside. That stuff works much better. Spray it on with an old squirt bottle and wipe off with an old towel. I had to just hose off the engine bay and do a little more hand scrubbing of the dead bugs to finish it.  ;)

Looks great. What do you use for a method and cleaning solution for the engine bay? Do hose the entire engine down or do you clean each component by hand?

For taking the dual carb swap so well, I washed, waxed, cleaned the interior, cleaned all the windows, detailed the engine bay and degreased the underside. One more month until I can drive it!  [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]

The underside side of the rear floor had a nice coating of black stuff as did the transfer case, skid plate and rear axle. All nice and clean now. :D
