;D I do have the habit of disappearing for long hours in the shop or on the road in the Jeep. So far the wife hasn't said much about it. 8-)

It's probably because she is holed up in her office every day doing her family history work and don't even know I'm gone.

I'll tell you what...I wish I had Carl's machining skills...and tools.  I don't think I'd ever leave the garage.  My wife would kill me.

Mac, I was using the one Calvin bought for his friends Jeep, the red Jeep at that time. However is steers with the one I made as good as the one Calvin bought so they do a fine job for sure.

I had an opportunity to drive Carl's Jeep when we were in Utah and his steered great with the tightsteer he made. It was a noticable improvement over the other 3A's without the Tightsteer.

I can tell you they do perform as described. I tried one Calvin bought for a friends Jeep while I was in Utah. After that I made one for me with some modifications to suit me and it does a great job.

I totally recommend buying one for a Jeep whether you have rebuild your steering box or not. It will make a new or old steering box work much better.

They come with a blue spring but you may want to buy a red spring to see if it helps your steering box, especially if your steering box is worn as mine is. I have tried the blue and red spring in mine and I prefer the red spring.

I've heard pretty good reviews on these. Please let me know if it makes a noticeable difference on your battle wagon.

For those of you that want to have a TightSteer, but found the price to be a bit high, JeepRoger, the developer of this product, is running a Christmas Special. 20% off until Christmas. Overall price with shipping...$68.00.

I bought one yesterday, and hope to have it in the next few days. I did do a sector shaft rebuild, and this alone improved my steering a lot, but I still have about 1" of play at the steering wheel while driving straight. I don't know if this is the final answer, but I figure it can't hurt.

You can find him and his offer at the 2A page. Look under 'Member Created Parts'.
