So I know people get really mad about these so called 'Bubba mods' that they end up dealing with on their jeeps. Well I am here to say that if you intend to
use
your jeep, then it will have to happen at some point. Some examples:
1. After flat towing my jeep to the U.P. / Shambhala, I noticed that the u joint caps that my silly father taped up had come undone. I mean come on Dad, use a little more tape here. (someone around here has met him/ probably tried to talk him low on some prices. Love you Dad!) But what is he going to do, drive 8 hours up here and press the joint for me? Nope. So I used a big rock and a socket to do it myself. Is it set in there correctly? Probably not. My jeep runs and drives.
2. While cruising deep in the boonies, a bolt fell out of the generator bracket. We used parachute cord to pull it twords the fender and hold the belt tight. Did I remember to put a bolt back in there for maybe 3 days? No I did not. My jeep runs and drives.
3. Jeep stared to overheat. Whoops the thermostat is bad. I got a new one, but they didn't have a gasket. So I cut one using a steak knife and childrens safety scissors. It looked like crap so some aquarium sealant went on there as well. I also was missing my 1/8 inch drill bit. Two smaller holes didn't seem like a good idea so I just used the next closest size and sort of reamed out the hole. My jeep runs and drives.
4. Rain comes in the air vent. I get more wet from that then the lack of a full top. Duck tape goes over the hole instead of the hatch.
5. The rearview mirror fell off again, so that is now tied on with more cord. I do not intend to repair this problem ever again.
And on and on

Poor jeep.
