Kind words, Carl.  Thanks.

My wife and I were very pleased to have spent most of a week Jeepin' with Carl and Betty.  We are now great friends.

Like Carl said, I too, have come to know other Jeep owners on this site.  Many great acquaintances have been made just through pics and narratives. Some have traveled here and with others I have traveled to their place.  It has been a lot of fun. I hope for such associations to continue.  It seems like most Willys owners have a lot in common.

My son suggested a Samurai when I started looking for a 4whl drive. I favored a early Jeep and kept looking. Had I not found my Jeep I would probably have a Samurai and would never found Calvin and the others have I met on the Jeep sites. Nor would I have went to Utah and that my friends would have been a big loss on my part. Actually a great loss indeed.

Tim,
ï¿½ Around here there are more of that vintage Suzuki than there are Flat Fenders. They are nearly the same size as a Flat Fender. About the same length but just a few inches wider. A stock Suzuki will not perform quite like a Willys, but close. They are easy to modify and really make a good 4-wheelin' truck. Had I not had so many Willys in the past I'm sure I would have joined my friends and purchased an old Suzuki. Glad I've got my Jeep.
ï¿½ I don't know about the Suzuki following in other parts of the country.

Looks like a lot of fun.  Also looks like the invasion of the Suzukis.  Does the Suzuki community have a strong following like the Flat Fender community?

They are neat little trucks.

Here, here.

How about a progress report?

Rendezvous for the trail ride (surrounded by Samurais-even the experimental floating Samurai in the background)

The driver and owner of the 2nd Samurai is a lovely 16 year old girl, the daughter of the driver and owner of the 1st Samurai (not his 9 year old son at the wheel). It was her vehicle of choice as she became old enough to drive.

On the trail

Manpower, boypower, and horsepower help get her off high center

Not a cloud in the sky

Even in April we had to seek out shade for lunch. It's going to be a hot summer.

Steady as she goes

This cave has a small opening in the rear through which the man left of the tree and his two sons high above the cave exited before climbing up on the hill.

It was a great day for four-wheelin'
