Here's a quote from Broadway Title:

Quote
Due to changes in their title laws, we are unable to do titles in the following states under ANY circumstances. Alaska, Alabama, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, North Carolina, Wisconsin. Please note, Laws change on a constant basis. So please check with us on any of the states listed.
I would suspect none of the other title service companies can either. Better to have someone out of state title it and then transfer the title to you. Make sure you trust them. ;)

I have used Broadway and their process worked fine here in PA.

Some states will do a salvage title but you would have to find someone living there and haul it to them and have the Sherrif inspect it then title it and then transfer it to you and your state would title it then.

Just saw you were in the communist republic of Wisconsin. If the way they treat mi8litary collectors is any sign of how you will be treated as a classic collector, I would ask a friend in another state to title it for you, then sell it to you.. Or move to a more jeep friendly state.

Depends on your state. Some states used the engine number for titling as it was a little harder to remove from the jeep than the screwed on plates Willys used.

Also some states have a bonded title process.. Normally it is a whole lot less than ITS or Broadway Title. and at least you don't have the possibility of your state refusing the title mill paperwork.

Does anyone have any experiance with the online title services that are availible.  I'm looking at ITS out of Las Vegas.  International Title Service.  They tell me for $400 I get a title and plate? Sound like a scam?

When a found my new friend I didn't think I would be takin her down the road but as I find more and more fuctioning drive train the need for a proper title has become a sticking point.  I'd hate to part it out.

  Here's my tag: CJ-3A  54148   Engine:  3J 53455

I've tried the national title search with # 54148  but it comes back empty.  It was possible that in 51 ID# 54148 was used a second time?  Could this one have been titled under 53455?

I'd love to find the last titled owner but running into road blocks on that path.

 Penny for your thoughts guys!
