This is a salad tub. �An early MD Juan from JC Whitney. �I got it cheap from a guy who owned for over fifthteen years and did not have the knowledge to complete his project and wife was in his shorts about getting it gone. �The tub has a MB/GPW glove box and did not have the indent for parking brake or the cowel battery box w/lid. �The PO chopped out the rectangular hole in the dash for the M38 type panel and he also chopped out fuel filler for the M38 type and in the wrong place and made several other bad changes. �In retrospect, I should have just changed the whole dash but that is hindsight now. �

Brett, I have completed the repairs to the back seat. �I guess I did not make my post clear about the front seat top corners. �They are the same OD and wall thickness and have almost the same bend radius as the back seat bottom corners (very, very close). �Using front seat top corners really eliminates all the concerns you stated in you post. �If someone needs to repair a backseat, I think I have another front seat with good top corners but the bottom of the frame is all bad. �I am glad I never junked those bad front seat frames. �You are correct about John@Midwest, I have bought from him for several years.

athawk, I got first one at MVPA in Dayton in 2006, before I started this project, it was $45.00. �I got the second one at the first Marengo show, it was $65.00. �Yes, they have rubber seals and hard to find. � I really appreciate you posting the back view of your jeep. �I am still debating whether to remove the CJ3A Implement attachment bar and do mine as you have done yours. �I really like yours but civiy setup is very handy. �I think my top came from the same supplier as yours, I can't remember their name, over on the left coast. �Do you have turn signals???

MD Juan tub? �I don't think I'll buy another part made by them. �Luckily I've only bought 4 small parts made by them. �
Curious as to why you went with a M38 tub, don't they have a CJ3a tub available? �Looks like you are doing a good job with it. :) �
Are you planning on putting a cowl battery box in it? �If you do, may I recommend John over at MidwestMilitary. �Top notch stuff and real nice guy.
As for the rear seat frame, best to find some same OD tubing and cut out and replace the bad sections.  Hard part might be finding someone who can bend a radius.  If the tubing is thin and you try to fill the holes with weld, you might be chasing chasing holes around and make a mess.

athawk, The tub and front clip will desert tan and sitting on OD frame and OD wheels. �Seat frames and column will be OD. �I had to remove all the paint from the new tub because it was peeling. �I think they painted over oily surface and did not use any primer much less etching primer. �Here is a photo of my test fit of the Gamma Goats in a tub:

The front seat top corner is not an exact fit but very close.  Had to heat and open a little, but here is the repaired back seat corner ready for sand blasting and P & P.

Progress this week...I had been stewing about how to repair the back seat. �I got it from a guy who let sit on the ground and a bottom corner was very rusty where it touched the ground. �Awhile back I was going through some seat stuff and found a frame that was in sad shape but I noticed the top corners were good and thought maybe I could use a top corner to repair the back seat bottom corner. �The front seat corner is on the left and the back seat corner is on right. �Maybe this help someone later.
